Doll Care

Please read the following care tips for your handmade doll. Each doll is made by hand and therefore will vary from doll to doll. All materials used are responsibly sourced.

The dolls are mainly recommended as interior or decorative art dolls. These dolls can be ideal art pieces to perk up a child’s bedroom, a gentle companion or simply as lovely gifts to your loved ones (or to yourself).

Delicate details such as tiny accessories or other small parts mean this doll may not be suitable for children under the age of 5. The risk posed to toddlers under 5 years of age by toys are choking on, inhaling or swallowing small objects that came from a toy. This includes pieces that may have broken off during play.

When playing with the doll, a bit more care is required. It’s only recommended for delicate or gentle playing for children aged 5 and above.

For dolls with synthetic hair: 

Good combing can help maintain your doll’s hair in good shape. To remove tangles in the hair, brush out the tangles slowly and carefully using wide-toothed comb or your fingers. Hold your doll firmly by the neck while gently brushing her hair. Pulling too hard on the dolls may cause the wig to loosen. You can also choose to use baby shampoo and conditioner until it’s tangle-free.

For dolls with natural fiber hair:

Natural fibers such as Mohair and Alpaca locks are one of the most prized natural fibers. The soft and silky fibers require delicate combing only. Avoid rough brushing. Carefully comb through with your fingers or a wide-toothed comb.

Spot clean only – the dolls can be spot cleaned as necessary with a damp cloth and mild detergent. The doll cannot be fully submerged in water or tossed in washing machine.

The clothes are made removable so you can transform your doll’s look once in a while. These clothes can be washed gently. Please note that the doll’s underwear is not meant to be removed.

For some custom-made dolls, it is likely that the entire clothing is sewn on to the body and are NOT meant to be removed. If you are unsure, feel free to check with me on IG or FB.

Keep your doll in a cool dry place. Avoid storing or displaying the doll in areas affected by direct sunlight.

Check your child’s toys every now and then for wear and tear that could be dangerous. Thank you.
